I don't know about most of you but Beyond Dark Castle is a little too hard for me to enjoy in the limited amount of time available to play it. The practice mode is a cute feature but not allowing you to progress through the levels in practice mode is a real bummer. So what is left to do? Cheat! BDC Zappa FKEY allows you to cheat by super charging the saved games. It does the following:
Game 1: Nothing
Game 2: Super charges stats
Game 3: Super charges stats and gives you the fire ball
Game 4: Super charges stats and gives you the shield
Game 5: Super charges stats and gives you the orb
For game 5 don't ask where the orb comes from. I haven't had the time to figure that out. The FKEY will not take away orbs, fire balls, or shields you already have and it will not change your score. OK, now for Getting BDC Zappa to work. You can install the FKEY into your system file but I would suggest installing it in one of the Beyond Dark Castle files. I have mine installed in the BDC Prefs file. The only time BDC lets you use FKEYs is when you are NOT playing a game. In other words you can only use BDC Zappa when the cursor is visible. If you are using floppies and only have one drive the FKEY will eject BDC 1 and wait for you to insert BDC 2. DBC Zappa will beep if it fails in its super charging. Of course none of this stuff is garanteed to work at all and you should only modify copies of BDC and not your original disks.
